FFA Congress - Football Victoria

The continuing controversy about who gets to elect the Directors of Football Federation Australia.

Attached below is the view of Football Victoria.

Football Federation Victoria (FFV) wishes to state its position on the Football Federation Australia (FFA) Congress and governance of football in Australia.

FFV maintains its commitment to collaborating with all stakeholders in the interests of a consensus driven outcome for a sustainable and representative FFA Congress to underpin the governance and stability of FFA.

FFV has consistently advocated that a clearly defined process and the requisite commitment from all stakeholders is a precondition to achieving this outcome.

FFV supports a two-stage process for achieving the FFA Congress, commencing with the 9-3-1 (0) model.

A requirement is the critical issue of a second division/connection of the professional game.
Grassroots structures contained within the agreed Terms of Reference and Timelines of the appropriate FFA Board sub-committee, and FFV membership of this committee. FFV would require this to be achieved prior to being required to cast its vote in favour of the FFA Congress.

FFV will continue to work towards an MOU design to provide a framework for the advancement of Australian football.

FFV will seek to re-activate the tri-partite forum with FFA and Hyundai A-League Clubs to address the structural and strategic issues in football.
